Principal's Bio

Mrs. Hamilton has served as an educator in Baldwin County School System since 1991. She has held her current position as principal at Bay Minette Intermediate School since 2000. She is married to Dunston K. Hamilton, M.D.. She has three children, and is a faithful member of Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, where she teaches Sunday School, she is a member of the choir, and a highly valued Youth Director.  

Her extensive education background is as follows: Mrs. Hamilton is a graduate of Vigor School and upon high school graduation, she attended Sandford D. Bishop Community College. Mrs. Hamilton recieved her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Alabama in 1991. In 1995, she graduated from Univ. of South Alabama with a Master's of Arts in Elementary Education Degree. Mrs. Hamilton, earned her Educational Administration Certificate in 1999.  In 2004, she earned the status of Education Specialist, also from Univ. of South Alabama. Mrs. Hamilton is presently attending the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Florida and is working on her Doctorate' Degree in Administrative Studies.

Mrs. Abby Hamilton is very involved in the community and extremely active. She has served: On the Board of Directors for the Alabama Cooperative Extension, WKRG Mobile and Baldwin Advisory Council, from 1999 to present, am member of the Heritage, Junior Women's Club from 1995 to present, North Baldwin Community Concert Board Member from 1995 to present, North Baldwin United Way Board of Directors, Baldwin County Credit Union Board in 2003, North Baldwin Infirmary Foundation Board of Directors, 2005 to present, Mrs. Hamilton is also actively involved with Lighthouse Shelter for Battered Women and Children from 199 to present.
